Austin-area writers looking for an opportunity to establish or expand their professional writing lives can still register for a one-day workshop, “On Being a Writer,” from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., this Saturday, November 15, at Hope Bible Fellowship in Round Rock, Texas.

Professional authors, editors and speakers Ann Kroeker and Charity Singleton Craig will lead the workshop. Kroeker and Craig both work for the online publications The High Calling and Tweetspeak Poetry and co-authored the T.S. Poetry Press book On Being a Writer.

“As editors, Charity and I work with writers who represent a wide range of experience, coaching them to turn out their best possible work,” Kroeker says. “I’m also a writing coach, so every day I’m helping clients take their writing to the next level. This workshop is going to be packed with the same kind of ideas and content we share with people in our book and in our own writing, editing and coaching lives.”

Craig describes the event as an affordable way to get valuable input and points out that this event features not just one but two professionals, which means attendees will get six hours of coaching content drawing from experience that the two writers have gained over the past 20+ years.

We know what it’s like to crave input but have little in the way of resources,” Craig says. “We’ve been there. And now that we’re further down the road and have gained insider understanding of the publishing industry, this workshop is a way for us to share some of that knowledge.”

The cost for the workshop is $50, which includes all sessions and lunch catered by Bee’s Knees Bakeshop.
